Location and First Impressions of Hotel Aqua Palace
Hotel Aqua Palace is ideally situated right in front of Gwangalli Beach, providing travelers with easy access to the water and beautiful views. Upon check-in, all I needed was a towel and a few belongings to head straight to the beach. The convenience of being able to quickly return to the hotel after a swim and freshen up made the experience even more enjoyable.
Adjacent to the hotel’s entrance is a Tom and Toms Café, which is perfect for grabbing a cup of coffee while waiting for check-in time. You can leave your luggage at the hotel lobby and relax, soaking in the beachfront view.

This is the main entrance of Hotel Aqua Palace.
Crossing the road in front leads directly to Gwangalli Beach, making it very convenient and accessible.
There is a cafe to the right of the entrance named “Tom and Toms, so if you arrive before check-in time and have some time to spare, you can leave your luggage at the hotel lobby and enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the view of Gwangalli Beach.
After checking into the hotel, just grab a towel and some simple belongings to escape the heat at Gwangalli Beach.
Playing in the water while viewing the Gwangan Bridge can make you forget the heat and have a great time.
During the peak season from late July to early August, you can see many people enjoying themselves in the water.

After having fun, wrap yourself in the towel you brought and just cross the street to enter the hotel directly.
As shown in the photo, it’s located right in front of the road.
Being wet for a long time can feel uncomfortable, but since you can immediately go in and shower, the location couldn’t be more appealing.
Keep in mind that there are plenty of amenities such as convenience stores and restaurants near the hotel.

Here are the views of the ocean-view room I stayed in, both during the day and at night.
In the morning, the sun rising over the Gwangan Bridge woke me up, and in the evening, the undulating lights of the Gwangan Bridge were emphasized, making it look even more beautiful.
Personally, I was absolutely enchanted by the night view.

Looking out the window, I saw the morning and the dawn views.
Opting for an ocean view was definitely the right choice.
The price was in the low 300,000 KRW range per night, based on peak season rates in mid-July.

I had packed rockfish sashimi from a nearby sushi restaurant, and they also provided some seafood.
Eating it with wine while listening to the sound of the waves created a lovely atmosphere.

I woke up early to enjoy the breakfast included in our package.
Usually, breakfast feels like a self-service affair, but perhaps due to the typhoon and fewer guests, while vegetables were available for self-serving, plates filled with bacon, eggs, and hash browns were brought to us by the server.

Although I didn’t visit it since my main goal was to enjoy the beach, there’s an infinity pool on the 10th floor.
It’s said to use seawater hot spring water coming from 815 meters underground, so if you’re curious, I recommend checking it out.
The night view from the infinity pool is said to be absolutely stunning.

Here’s the price list for the infinity pool:
- Blue Season (July to August): 40,000 KRW
- Green Season (September to November, March to June): 32,000 KRW
- White Season (December to February): 28,000 KRW
The operating hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM, with a kids’ time from 9 AM to 12 PM. For the infinity pool package, there’s an additional charge of 10,000 KRW for elementary students and 20,000 KRW for middle and high school students.

After a good rest, I checked out. Elevators tend to be overwhelmed around the checkout time at 11 AM due to the rush, so if you’re planning to go out during your stay, it’s best to avoid this timeframe.
